HUGE Late 1890's Antique HORNBACK Alligator Skin Doctor Bag
Fantastic large antique hornback alligator skin doctor bag carry-on luggage from the early 1900's! Dramatic skins on this exquisite bag with full osteoderms (raised back scales) centered on both sides with large scaled gussets and bottom. Thick structured skin-covered top handle with genuine brass sliding top clasp, skin covered metal top frame (some missing in a few spots), and dual sliding top locks. Interior is a clean, but slightly rugged, light tan genuine leather which had a side pocket at some point that is no longer there. There is some minor piping missing in exterior creases (does not affect integrity) and there has been a professional repair on one corner, all which impact rating. Make no mistake though, this is a fantastic and rare bag in great condition for age!
