Vintage Skins is a one-woman shop in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, run by Lisa Corbett Thurber. This page says plainly what information the shop collects, why, and who else touches it. If anything here is unclear, call (412) 226-4440 or email info@vintageskins.com and ask.
What we collect
- When you order: your name, shipping and billing address, email address and phone number, and the details of what you bought. Payment card details are entered on our checkout and handled by our payment processor — the shop never sees or stores your full card number.
- When you subscribe to the newsletter: your email address, and any coupon code we issue you.
- When you call or text us: your phone number, a recording and transcript of any voicemail you leave, and what you asked about.
- When you browse: ordinary web-server information (pages requested, browser, approximate location from your IP address) and cookies, as described below.
Why we use it
To take and ship your order, to answer your questions, to send the newsletter if you asked for it, and to keep the shop working and secure. We do not sell your personal information, and we never have.
Who else is involved
Running an online shop means a handful of service providers see some of this information in order to do their job:
- BigCommerce — hosts the store and processes orders.
- Our payment processor — takes the payment. Card details go to them, not to us.
- USPS and UPS — deliver the parcel, and need the address.
- Mailchimp — sends the newsletter, if you subscribed.
- Twilio — carries the phone line: calls, voicemail recordings and transcription, and any text message we send you.
- Resend — delivers our operational email, such as sending a voicemail transcript to Lisa or a tracking number to you.
- Meta (Facebook) — an advertising pixel runs on the site, as described under cookies.
- Google — our product listings appear in Google Shopping's free listings, which means the public details of items for sale are sent to Google. No customer information is included in that feed.
Each of them may only use your information to provide their service to us.
Text messages
We do not share your phone number, your consent to be texted, or the contents of any text message with third parties for their own marketing, and we never sell that information. The only third party involved is Twilio, which carries the message for us. We text you only in reply to something you sent us; reply STOP to any message and we stop. Cookies and tracking
The site uses cookies that make the store work — your cart, your session, your login. It also loads a Meta (Facebook) advertising pixel, which Meta may use to show you our items elsewhere, and a Mailchimp script for the newsletter signup. You can block cookies in your browser; the cart and checkout need theirs to function.
How long we keep things
Order records are kept as long as we need them for accounting and returns. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Voicemail recordings and their transcripts are deleted after 90 days.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from the newsletter with the link in any newsletter email.
- Reply STOP to any text message to stop texts.
- Ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — email info@vintageskins.com or call the number below. We will not charge you for asking and we will not treat you differently for asking.
Children
The shop is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes
If this page changes, the date at the top changes with it.
